besides being a famous tourist destination, Zaostrog is probably best known as a small town where one of the most famous Croatian Franciscans and writers, Andrija Kačić Miošić, lived most of his life. In Zaostrog there is also a monastery where he lived and a library with over thirty thousand titles.
Zaostrog is also known for its campground celebrated in a known song of a famous band from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
