is a micro-region in the Split-Dalmatia County. It stretches over 53 kilometres of coastline from Brela to Gradac. It includes the municipalities of Brela, Baška Voda, Makarska, Tučepi, Podgora and Gradac. The centre of Riviera is the town of Makarska. Makarska Riviera has all the characteristics of Mediterranean climate, hot and dry summers and mild winters, which favours the development of tourism which is one of the most important industries in this area. The annual number of sunny hours in this region is 2700 and the annual average sea temperature is 20 degrees.
